I’m Bethany–a coach, author, sometimes-athlete, twin mom, and enthusiast of doing.

I didn’t start in triathlon as an endurance athlete. I knew next-to-nothing about endurance sports. I thought triathlon was for uber-athletes, former Division I swimmers, and people who had life figured out.

Triathlon for beginners was confusing. And intimidating! But in my dozen years of coaching and racing around the world, I’ve learned two things.

  • Training for your first race doesn’t have to be complicated.
  • Training and racing can change your life in greater ways than sore legs and a cheap medal.

In Courage to Tri, I’ve compiled tips, tricks, and lessons along with the inspiration I wish I had when getting started.

The result is your triathlon beginners roadmap to dreaming, planning, then crossing your first finish line.

If you’ve ever thought tackling a 5k, sprint tri, or other event sounded awesome—but out of reach—I wrote Courage to Tri for you.

Now I’m ready to share what I’ve learned with you

“…I heard how motivational this book was so I decided to give it a try, even though I’m not an athlete…the stories are so raw and inspirational that I couldn’t put it down. In fact, it moved me to get up and get back to exercising the very next day….

5k Finisher

“…There truly is something for everyone from the experienced athlete to someone who is just trying to get back in shape….”

Lauren
IRONMAN Finisher

These athletes thought they were too busy, too big, too old–too everything–yet still reached their goals.

But that’s not all. They used new positive habits  to make big–sometimes huge–changes: weight loss, job changes, spiritual awakenings, and more.

So. If you’ve ever thought tackling a 5k, sprint tri, or other event sounded awesome—but out of reach.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in a rut.

If you’re ready to break from the drudgery of your day to day.

If you’ve ever needed a kick in the rump.

Then you gotta read this book!
